Clep!

Micah had to see an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist recently and when instructed to clap, just stared.
He's not even two yet, but he's really smart. He knows a lot of words and word associations. For instance, last night, I asked him, what sound does Roger make. He paused, and both his dad and I waited for him to associate Roger with dog. Sure enough, he said "woof woof".
With that being said, clap is NOT a hard word. However, if pronounced clep, when his family clearly pronounces the A, the boy just didn't understand. He nearly got diagnosed for being deaf because my brother had to tell him clap.
Just a funny story that plainly illustrates why I speak with an American accent around non-Trinidadians.
