Super Mom!!

Micah was born at 646 this morning. Carol and I arrived at the hospital at 530 this morning. Carol woke me up after having contractions 2-3 mins apart. Carol started feeling those contractions at 430 this morning. In other words, Carol went from feeling contractions to having a baby in under 3 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's insane. This is her first baby. She didn't even feel her initial contractions. They started a few nights ago, evident by the "weird" feeling she had and her inability to sleep well. She was at the gym on Monday!! DUDE!

The birthing teacher mentioned that the full moon brings out the babies, and this baby was evidence of that. Today is the full moon, and it pulled him out, 21 days early.

He's such a cute boy with a full head of, rock star looking hair. Everyone's really sad that my brother wasn't there to see it, but he was on the phone and heard what was going on! Her parents were one day late, as they were expected tomorrow. Oh well, everyone will see the newborn, cause Adrian is coming tomorrow as well, instead of on the 3rd!

YAY!! I'm an Aunt. If I have a pregnancy like Carols, NO complications, NO anything bad, and such a quick delivery...I'll have kids. Otherwise, I don't think so!!!!!!!!

Pat on the Back!

After a month of hitting the gym hard, with a trainer out to do a killer job, I have FINALLY heard some good news about my efforts. Not that I thought it wouldn't happen, but after the last measurements, I was really depressed. After last night, ECSTATIC!! I have lost 6% body fat since starting my work out routine a month ago. That's LOT, to which my trainer was very pleased. He noticed that I've gotten stronger, and started making me do harder crunches. sweeet!

On Sunday, I added to my home work out collection, with a stability ball, and two 5lb weights. My 10lb weights are no longer lonely. I've had those since I was 19!!

I'm so much more pumped to go to the gym, knowing that I get results...in a relatively short period of time.
Weight: 158lbs (the same, but, since I've lost fat and gained muscle...it kinda evens out)

The Sun Shines Differently

I've been feeling more and more frustrated with the idea of being stuck in Texas forever. I don't want to be. After having been in different parts of the country for all seasons, I want to live up north so badly. Boston, Chicago, London(cause an overseas assignment would be amazing)...somewhere with a big city. The sun shines differently in Boston and in Chicago. It shines in a way that seems perfect for being outside and not disgusting. Every once in a while, on a clear day when the sun is bright, and the air remotely crisp, I'm reminded of a spring day in Illinois.

Today has been the first "cold" day of the fall, gloomy, PERFECT. I can't wait for more days like this. Too bad they're always short lived...in Texas!
[picture above is in the Boston Common, near Beacon Hill. That's one of my FAVOURITE places in Boston!]

PISSED doesn't even describe it!!

Two times in the past two months, the weather has caused me to cancel trips, first to Colorado, then tonight, to Chicago! Words can not describe how sad I am that I'm not in a plane right now, on the way to one of my favourite places in the world, to see my friend get married tomorrow.

Priceline can kiss my ass, since I lost 200 dollars for NOTHING. It cost me 200 dollars (the rest of my trip was refunded in someway or another) to go nowhere, and do nothing. That adds most of the frustration to the matter. When I spoke to the United Airlines people, I literally stared at them after they told me how my refund would be handled. I was blank, misunderstanding the part that, I wouldn't be refunded, and it would STILL cost me money to use my tickets another time. BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!
[The situation is that priceline does not refund money. Since United cancelled because of the weather, they could not refund my money. Instead, I could use my ticket again, within a year from today. HOWEVER, the value of the ticket goes down to 100 dollars less than what it is today. THEREFORE, if I go somewhere and it costs more than a hundred dollars less of what my ticket cost...I HAVE TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE! Can someone tell me the logic and HOW the hell they can take my money when I have gotten absolutely NOTHING out of it?????]

Well, the next time I plan on going to Chicago, I'll go for a longer time. Do more. See more.

I'm so sad. I'm so mad. I really nearly cried at the airport.

Back to the Windy City

FINALLY!! Tonight, Chris and I are flying to Chicago, the place I left a little over 8 years ago. I love Chicago so much and I've wanted to go back all these years, but never got the chance to. Now, with my own money and my own time, I'm going to Katie's wedding. I'm gonna take Chris to my area that I'll always remember even though I was only there for 2 years of my life.

I can't wait to go downtown and walk around. I'm especially excited because the weather will be perfect. It's never too hot in Chicago. That city can do no wrong in my eyes.

I am SO EXCITED!! I can't wait. I just wish I could go for a week, or a year, or a lifetime!

17.10.07

Ahh memories.

I just bought a new chapstick. Instead of getting the blue one like I have for the past few years, I went back in time and got the good old Cherry!! MmMmM, I just put it on and it smells so good!

tasty!

Pineapple chunks.
Plain yogurt.
Granola with raisins.
I could eat it all day.

fitter, faster, stronger

I'm working on all three. It's not a hard feat for me. I'll just have to out do what I've been able to do before.

I'm already fitter.
I'm already stronger.
I'm already faster.
My mind was made up a few months ago when I started this thing. Now I'm determined to do it FAST.

nap time.

Is it wrong that I use going to the bathroom as an excuse to take a nap. HAHA! Well you know, I can't just put my head down on my desk. I can't go lay down on the sofas outside. I CAN go use the bathroom.
:)

16.10.07

fast change

I went to lunch on a cloudy, gloomy, great feeling day, only to walk back outside to find it sunny! Hmm...I was wondering how it was supposed to warm up to 87 degrees today, when the clouds were keeping it cool.
SUCKS!

15.10.07

rain rain

I am LOVING this sudden storm, with dark skies, and potential threat to the area! I just wish I could go home and be in my pjs, watching tv, and playing with the dog. Instead, I have to stay another hour and a half, then go to the gym later. I NEED to go to the gym, and I WANT to go to the gym, I just wish I was 30 lbs lighter, so that wouldn't be a necessity!

14.10.07

belongs to me

I actually own this girly dress. I'm wearing it to a wedding. wow!

12.10.07

I don't think so!

Since my brother is in another country, I'm filling in, going with my sister-in-law to the birthing class. Last night was the first class and, I think that only women who have already had babies and men should go to that class. It will definitely be a deterrent to women who aren't pregnant. After the first class, I don't think I want to put myself through that. There is way more than EVER discussed on anything. Maybe that National Geographic documentary went into a little more detail, but, still, more than imaginable.

Trust me, I'm not afraid of the pain. I'm just more like, dayum! All of that happens? Is that really worth it? I don't know. We'll see. I'm certainly not in any hurry to procreate.
Speaking of the class though, it was WEIRD being the only non-husband in the room, surrounded by all these expecting first time moms. They were some Katy women. The whole "I'm pregnant therefore I'll be sluggish and frumpy" did NOT apply. I don't think it really does anymore, maybe in TINY towns, where they don't know what's going on. There was this one woman who supposedly gained 33 lbs, but who is still REALLY THIN. When I say thin, I'm talking...Angelina Jolie! Yeah, these pregnant ladies now adays (and I'm not saying EVERYONE), they can put a regular woman to shame!

10.10.07

sheer disappointment

I shouldn't have been so anxious.
I saw differences, that I don't see today.
The numbers can't lie.
They didn't tell me anything good.
I feel like crap!
I'm gonna get killed from now own.
I'm gonna starve from now on.
Weight: the same
Body fat: the same
(oh yeah, it indicates that I'm obese)

9.10.07

Insane Anticipation

I was supposed to be measured on Friday, so I psyched myself up for it.....he forgot.
I was supposed to be measured last night, so I psyched myself up for it......he scheduled someone else in my spot.
I am supposed to be measured tonight, and I'm psyching myself up, getting more and more nervous.

It's been three weeks since I started training. I see definite improvements, but know that my eating habits have prohibited a more significant improvement. I should have lost about 6lbs by now, but I know I haven't. So, I'm nervous to see if my body fat percent went down...even a little. If it did, at least I know I'm doing something right. I mean, I can tell my muscles are more dense and what not, but, it's the "official" measurement that I'm waiting for. The trainer is gonna be like "what the crap have we been doing" when he sees NO improvement. It's the weekends' fault I tell ya!

5.10.07

The Cat is away!

We will play. She told us not to, but...it's unavoidable to not feel free from opression.

For the rest of the year, our dear Flo will be absent every Friday, except for one Friday each month. That means, as of Today, Timothy and I are on our own, to feel less tense while working. It's a good feeling, and we ARE actually doing work. People ARE still calling, and we ARE taking calls. Well, not me..yet. I am however working on some stuff with the program.

This past week, especially yesterday, I've felt really down. It's the whole stupid PMS crap that I've dealt with a lot, and realized it's a HUGE issue for me, and affects me really badly. Yesterday was a bad day in the sense that I went from being really happy to really unhappy, in the matter of seconds. At that point, I had a permanent frown on my face, and the idea of tears coming at any second. I felt like throwing up at one point. I felt sad about my weight (I'm not losing any, and it didn't help that I felt EXTREMELY ful at that moment). I felt sad about other things, like my other shortcomings, too. It just didn't feel good. While driving home, I wanted to cruise control on 10mph in the fast lane just to piss everybody off. Instead, I cruised ON the speed limit, in the middle lane, just to piss every one off, flicking off any jerk that flashed me or spead around me. I drove home in a daze, just wanting to fall asleep as soon as I got home.

When I got home however, Roger made me feel happy. I was still really tired, and as his energy was dying down, I was taking him to his "room", and he didn't want to be held, and he fell out of my arms. He fell hard (on the carpet) in a really bad position, crying and running away. I FELT LIKE CRAP. I dropped my dog to where I thought he might have broken his neck, gotten a concussion, may have been bleeding in his brain. My mom was consoling him after he stopped crying, because I couldn't. She blamed me for a min, even though she knew it wasn't my fault and I didn't do it on purpose, and THAT I couldn't handle. I dropped my dog, thought I could have killed him, therefore, taking me back into my depression state. I went straight to my room and started to cry. Gladly, he seemed ok, cause my mom brought him in my room and he wasn't mad at me anymore, because he wanted to be with me (indicated by him wagging his tail as I held him and him being calm). I hope he's alright, and doesn't have some kind of delayed reaction. I still feel so bad that I dropped him. I feel like I should never have kids. Now I'm really scared about being around Micah.

It'll be over by Sunday. Then, it will be a few weeks before my mood changes badly, again.

I really need meds for this problem. I hate myself when I'm this way.

2.10.07

is it time yet?

We just spent almost 2 hours on the phone with someone who I could have actually helped, BUT, I wasn't. I was just listening, and falling asleep. zzzzzzz.

It's ONLY Tuesday. It's ONLY 3:40.

I wanna go to the gym later, but, I'm gonna do something else. I know I'll get killed tomorrow since I didn't get killed yesterday! YAY!

1.10.07

Moment of Silence

This weekend was depressing. Let's just leave it at that. I think we've lost a little faith in the UT football team. It's SO sad!

28.9.07

It's like I worked out or something.

At my training session on Wednesday, the first thing my trainer said was that he was going to kill my legs. That he did. Two days later, I can barely move. I like feeling that way, cause I know I pushed myself and did a hardcore work out. Let me relive that workout for you.

In the basketball court, after my 10 min warm up run, he had me do lunges up and down the full length of the court. After that, I side stepped into squats up and down the court. THEN, I did high knees up and down the court (basically, running but bringing my knees up to my chest with each step). That had my heart rate going, and my muscles engaged and feeling the burn. I was pleased when he noticed that while I did hire a trainer, it wasn't because I didn't know what the hell I was doing, but because I needed a focused work out routine. He was amazed and complimented proper lunge form.

After that part of the work out, I did a few crunches on the exercise ball...for burn.

Then, on to more legs. I did leg press, leg extensions, and leg curls, with crunches in between. Now, I've done squats and lunges all summer long, NOT A LOT OF THEM, but I have done them. I haven't done the press, extensions or curls, so I knew I was working muscles forgotten by my brain.

My brain remembered them yesterday and today. I feel like an old lady waddling around the place, standing and sitting VERY slowly. It's GREAT!

To recap my purpose of getting a trainer....
I've been active pretty much all my life by either playing sports, or going to the gym. There have been two points in my life that I let myself go, only to realize that that's not me, and was able to whip my body into shape, cause that's what my body knows (muscle memory). During my employment with Baker Hughes, I had little stability in my schedule to include working out, therefore, eating, sleeping and gaining a HUGE body fat %. I may not have looked big, but, body fat % is more important, thus...I was fat! I decided I wanted a trainer, because they're supposed to organize a work out for the most efficient and maximum results. That's what I wanted, because I did NOT have the patience to do it myself. It would have taken a little longer. Besides, I'm using a lot of new equipment that I would have never used before, but now I can't wait to use them again. My body is being stimulated and constantly challenged, cause it doesn't have a chance to get used to anything. My work out is different every time. So, in the end, as my trainer has observed, I shouldn't take too long to reach my goal based on my muscle memory. I'm glad he knows that, evident by him telling my that I have good arms, back and runners legs.

p.s. I've already lost weight, and my body is firming up, not unlike what I've been used to most of my life. As of last night Weight: 155.x lbs

Alien Baby!

After months of anticipation, Carol is finally here for the final 8 weeks of her pregnancy. It is CRAZY to see such a tiny woman have a belly. She still doesn't really look 7 months pregnant, that's for sure. I've never touched a pregnant belly. It's weird! I've touched it a few times already, and each time, it was really delicately, unsure of just how much I could push.

The second time I touched it, more than just a tiny poke, was to feel that Micah had stuck his foot in an odd position, actually creeping his Mum out. This was after I saw him creepily move around, while watching from the chair next to her. MICAH IS FREAKING ME OUT MAN!

He's gonna be so teeny, but it's strange to think that I was touching his foot, what will be an actual human foot in a few months. Not that it's not already, just, more noticable.

I'm looking forward to the next few months. I'll get to see my little nephew grow inside his mom...well, from the outside at least.

24.9.07

Reggie Bush who?!

Once again, Vince Young proved that he's more worthy of the Heisman trophy but in the NFL. (btw...i'm partially blind right now and I don't know why. I can see my typos only out of my left eye, cause I can't really see out of my right eye. There is a bright spot. uh oh) Anyway, Titans vs. the Saints. Vince and Reggie meet again. ESPN kept showing Reggie, especially when Vince was playing, I wonder why?

31-14! That's all I gotta say. What's up with the interceptions Saints? Could you make it any easier. The Titans practically walked into the endzone on that last interception!

I went to the doctor today, FINALLY after a LONG time. I've needed to go since the beginning of the summer. I went to find out about my skin, my finger and as of this weekend, my knee. I have a skin problem that requires "the more expensive non-steroid cream". I have a strained ligament from kneeling realllllly hard on the hinge of the puppy door. I have another ligament problem in my finger, possibly even a chipped bone fragment that will give me problems for a long time. Because of my knee injury, not even related to working out, though that's probably why it JUST started bothering me, even though the incident happened two weeks ago, I wasn't able to work out my legs today. The thing is, my knee is iffy. I ran just fine, I could walk most of the time just fine, it was getting in and out of the machines that hurt. It was doing leg curls that hurt and the trainer decided not to further my injuries. DARN! I knew that would be the right thing to do, but, I wanna work out my legs dang it! :(

19.9.07

Way to go Katy!

Tonight was surreal. When Chris and I pulled up to the gym right by my house tonight, an ASTON MARTIN was parked in front. A SHINY, BLACK, BEAUTIFUL Aston Martin! I drooled for a while, got sad that I didn't have my camera and went inside.

On the way out, looking forward to seeing if it was still there, I saw a shiny black car and had to do a double take. I thought my car identifying skills were majorly sucking, because I saw not an Aston martin this time but a LAMBORGHINI!!! YES, the Aston Martin was gone, but almost in it's place was a SHINY, BLACK, BEAUTIFUL lambo! HOLY COW.

I've seen the nice mercedes, bmws and what not in Katy, but was quite impressed that two people, or, quite possibly the same person who went home and switched cars, are at baller status!

*sigh*

18.9.07

I hope he goes to jail!

Warning: You may not want to read this if you're a Harry Potter fan!

That stupid idiot that got arrested at the Kerry forum in Florida gets NO sympathy from me. He DID have sympathy all through the article I was reading about him, until I read that on his website, he has videos posted of other things he's done for attention. I was just reading a freaking article about this fool, and they mentioned that he held up a sign saying "Harry dies!" MOTHERFELLOW! I'm soooo pissed right now. I didn't even want to hear the words Harry Potter or the 7th book or ANYTHING about it until I had read it. At the rate I'm going, I know I won't be able to read it for a while.

I. AM. FURIOUS. I hate hearing anything about anything that will ruin a movie or a book that I am really interested in. Even if I'm not interested in watching or reading it, if I AM going to watch it or read it eventually, I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Not even a detail about a true story that everyone knows the outcome of. THAT'S WHAT I PREFER.

I am extremely excited about the 7th Harry Potter, and I will just hope that what that moron said isn't true.

16.9.07

bye bye flabby.

That's me. I'm sick of having this much body fat. I'm the fattest I've been in my life. It's disgusting, and so uncomfortable for me. I made an investment in a butt kicking today, and starting tomorrow, I'll have a trainer. Not that I don't know all the basics...I just need someone to really push me, and help me do the most effective workout for a full body work out...for maximum results in a short period of time. If all goes well, I hope to be 20lbs or more lighter by Thanksgiving. I'd lose the 20lbs on my own, but I don't have the patience to do it alone, not again, and not without the added benefit of being able to walk around on campus all the time.

Current weight: 158 lbs. 33%fat

12.9.07

Puppy Love.

He's been here since Sunday. I'm really tired. I wake up at night to make sure he's clean. He wakes me up by crying. I really need to let him to keep crying so he'll get over it. BUT, I'm close enough to him that he wakes me up regardless. It takes a while to get him back to sleep. After that, he'll sleep a while longer.

I'm learning how to train him and things like that. It'll take a while. He's a sweet puppy. He's really quiet except for night time and when he thinks he'll be alone. That's the toughest part. You just wanna go hug him and make him feel better, but, NO!

Tomorrow is my last day to be able to wake up at 630, and be at work by 830. That's going to suck, especially since today we were out of our class at 330 and not 430. I'm gonna miss that feeling. blah!

10.9.07

I still can't believe it.

After YEARS of begging my parents for a dog, my dad finally, impulsively bought the perfect one to keep my mom from going postal. We stopped to see the puppies for sale and there he was. Some kids were going nuts for him, trying to get him. Their mom let us have him if we wanted him. My dad, uncaring of what my mom would think WANTED him!!

I got some cash. We got him some essentials. We took him home. My mom loved him at once (she's still trying to be mad though, talking about the timing and the fact that the baby won't have attention with him around).

He's a sweet two month old, toy poodle. Doesn't shed. Almost identical with the carpet. SMALL. That's JUST what my mom can handle. If it were me and MY dog, it'd be a rott or something.

My mom named him Roger. She's a Roger Federer fan, and he just happened to be playing when we brought him home. He then won the US Open! LOL.

8.9.07

Ready for some football!

It's football Saturday!! Already started watching since 11, the Miami vs. Oklahoma! Let's just say, I didn't feel like sticking around to watch Miami get raped. Now, I'm at the guys' place for the rest of the day two watch a few more games. wuhoo!!

Last night, I saw Halloween with Chris. It was the Rob Zombie remake, and from what I've heard, he's insane, and therefore, so are his movies. IT kinda was. The concept of course wasn't his, but, sevral times during the movie, I was reminded of my cousin and her brutal murder about 12 years ago. I'm mad that the BOY that murdered her is a free man, still living next door to my aunt, and married. He was 16 when he did it. I wonder if his wife knows. I hope he doesn't feel free in his soul!

RIP Gaylan.

6.9.07

Quit your bitching!

People who were SO damn eagre to buy the 500 dollar or however much it cost iPhone need to quit their crying about the fact that the price went down a few hundred dollars. EVERYONE knew that would happen, and the less "I have to have that so I can be cool" people, were just waiting for it. YES it is a cool phone to have, but NO, not worth what it cost when it first come out. EVERYONE knows that you do not NEED such a phone, therefore, if you bought it when it came out...you do NOT deserve a 100 dollar credit. STUPID idiots. Don't you realize by now that EVERYTHING goes on sale!
It actually makes me really angry to know that they're getting some sort of a rebate for paying so much just because the price went down now. GRR. What a weenie, Jobs! You shouldn't have caved like that.

Gutted!

I just sat and watched my laptop be taken apart. When I say taken apart, I MEAN taken apart, down to the plastic frame on the computer screen and such. EVERY tiny little screw was unscrewed. Chips and circuit boards were taken out. The mother board was replaced. The LCD screen was replaced. EVEN the little frame that goes in around the screen was replaced.

The verdict..... my initial problem was not fixed. THAT SUCKS. APPARENTLY I needed another part to fix it. I kinda don't want to order it, cause, while I got to stay home to wait for the guy to come, it was nerve wrecking being here all day. I feel guilty for having been able to sit in my house all day to read a manual. I actually had set a goal earlier this week for how far I wanted to be in the manual by today. I actually exceeded it a little bit today, and I STILL ended up have a lot of time of nothing to do. Is that bad? I woke up before 8, I'm all tired, and I had to fight from just taking a nap all day. I was afraid that I'd get some kind of constant email from Flo, asking what I was doing, and to see if I was near the computer. NERVE WRECKING. Now that it's almost 5, I can relax just a LITTLE! I better get paid for today. I didn't ask to be able to stay home. I got exactly what I wanted to get done. oye.

My poor computer is deformed, but I don't want to get it fixed. Maybe I can ask my dad to stay home or see when next he'll be home, and try to schedule it for that day. No more days home for me padna, not unless I have something to keep me occupied ALL DAY!

5.9.07

Computer stuff.

The night before the Dell guy comes to replace my AC adapter, I realize that it's not just NOT working, it's actually broken. SO, I'm glad I'm getting a new one TOMORROW.

My work laptop on the other hand is set up and remotely connected to the Halliburton server. Everything went smoothly, with no problems. SWEET.

Looks like I'll be working at home tomorrow! heh heh. That will be weird. I plan on waking up at 7, and be logged in by 8....just in case they keep emailing me all day to make sure I'm "at work". Dood, I'm reading the manual still. LUCKILY. Otherwise, I'd be less enthused about working from home simply cause I'd be so overwhelmed taking phone calls to support a program that I've only started learning about last week. BUT...that'll come in October, after which, NO WORKING FROM HOME FOR ME, at least not for like a year!

Talk about a computer nerd. There are currently 4 computers at my house....not including my dad's. I'm not sure his is here.

3.9.07

Week 2

Holy CRAP!! It's only the second week of the rest of my life of monotony. I DO NOT WANT TO GET UP AT 6am tomorrow to go to work. Yes, I know I have to suck it up and be an adult. That's my complaint though. WHY does that have to be the life adults have to live? GOLLY! I don't even have vacation until after 9 months. That means, I have no sort of relief except for the public holidays.
Oh man, 4o more years or so!!
FORTY!

2.9.07

Girl crush??

What's not to crush on? She's a crazy awesome athlete. She's crazy beautiful. She's tall. HER BODY IS FREAKING AMAZING!She's freaking awesome.

If Gabrielle Reece can look better 5 months pregnant than I did when I was 20 lbs lighter, that should be enough for me to get my tail to the gym. Pretty much I have no more muscle definition, something that I've always had, even though I wasn't CUT. Yeah, now that I have a job, I need a routine, and I need to work out. Stupid rain has been preventing me. I think I eat decently at work, not eating a lot, that's for sure, but when I do eat, it's not horrible food. I don't have a chance to get fast food, so that's the best. We'll see how it goes. I just wanna lose all this damn fat!

DOOD, how random is this. I was looking for a picture to put on this blog and I found out that she was either born in or lived in Trinidad for a while. Goodness! Sweet!

Bizarre

I'm doing a powerpoint presentation of all the Division 1-A NCAA mascots. Good grief!! There are some bizzare, random mascots. The buckeyes? The hilltoppers? Those mascots are just silly shapes. They don't actually exist.
.
Thank God I'm a Longhorn!
.
While I'm writing, tonight, my parents met Chris' mom and his mom's "mom". I was a bit nervous. This was as BIG deal. Now, my parents just need to meet his dad.

I had to!

That is HILARIOUS! Oh how the mighty have fallen. The once hottest chick around is now the nastiest.

Blast

I just got an email from Flo saying she won't be in until 8 today!! GREAT...so she didn't even know I got here really early!
bah!

The Friday Phenomenon.

I left home today at the same time I did yesterday. Just five minutes later than I did on Monday.

Monday, I was here at around 730.
Tuesday-745 (trying to leave ten mins earlier than the day before.)
Wednesday-740
Thursday-740
TODAY-725!!!

Yeah, I got here that much earlier because there was NO traffic. When on Fry road turning onto Westheimer Parkway, I realized that I was able to drive pretty much up to the light with out waiting for it to change a few times before I could go. Usually there is a HUGE line.

Turning onto Westheimer Rd, no long line. I only had to wait once, instead of getting into a long line that turns all the way back to the dog park!!! If you know what I'm talking about, you know that it's far from the light!!

SO yeah, I was aiming to get here the same time as usual. Early, but not stupidly early. I got here stupidly early....the time my boss gets here, cause we walked in together. I also realized that today is "casual Friday" I guess, cause he was wearing jeans, and so were a few other people. Oh well, I'm wearing dark brown pants, but now I know better!!

The sucky part about getting here before 730 is that even though Flo gets to leave at 430 because she works 730-430, I still have to leave at 5, cause I'm really supposed to work from 8-5. I don't think it's justified if I leave earlier.....EVEN THOUGH I DON'T HAVE WORK TO DO!!! (well, just self paced stuff) Nothing I HAVE to be here for! geesh.

30.8.07

Violated!!

My dad's car was robbed this morning. Some delinquents stole his work bag, stealing credit cards in the process.

Katy is going to the dogs. DAMN HIGHWAY EXPANSION! Either that or STUPID FREAKING WASTES OF SPACE are inhabiting the neighbourhood.

What's been up?

I've been so tired when I get home this week that I haven't had time to write in this thing. I also haven't even uploaded my pictures from this past weekend. That's RARE.

Halliburton considers facebook to be a dating/personals website and it is therefore forbidden from use at work. I find this highly amusing.

Work is doing well, but the lady I work with, who's the guru of the program I'm learning is rather mean. Well, she's really mean and impatient with the guy that works there. Fortunately, it's my first week and apparently I'm doing well, to her liking. We'll see how long that lasts.

I feel as though, by the time I get home, or to Chris' from work, there is NO time to do anything but get ready for work the next day and eat.

Traffic to and from work is a MAJOR sitiation YEAH, a SIT-I-ATION!!! I can't wait to move just so I can go in the other direction of traffic. puh!

27.8.07

I'm a big kid now.

Just like the little kids today, it was my first day. They lined up for the bus, and had their moms walk them to school. I pulled out of the driveway as my mom waved goodbye to me. HAHA.

Yeah, I felt like one of the kids on their first day of school.

26.8.07

530 and 545 am.

Those are my alarm times.

I'm not that tired yet, though I already took my two tylenol pms. I think I'm getting drowsy, but I'm going to read just to get me there. If I'm asleep by 11, I'll be happy.

Good night. Wish me luck.

Last Day.

Tomorrow is the BIG day. I have to wake up at 6am, get ready to be at work at 8am!! ahh. That's a crazy reality. I think it hit me a little this morning. I woke up at 730, tired and a little queezy. After throwing up a little, maybe from a bad mix the night before, I went back to sleep thinking that by this time tomorrow morning, I'll be driving to work.

Life as I know it is about to be conformed. Quite possibly, tomorrow might be the first day of the rest of my life as a cubicle dwelling, office working person.

It's a job in Houston, with a normal schedule. It's fine. I just really need to get used to it.

It's really going to suck having to wake up early for the commute to the office. I can't wait to move out.

Shoes the Full Version

Oh my God, shoes!!

"I like your boots!"

LOL. The shoe expert, Kelly, is hilarious. Click on the link to see the video.

wizards woke me up, yo!

I've been trying to wake up earlier than I usually do, so I can be tired, and start going to bed earlier. Next week is going to SUCK if I can't go to bed at 12 by the latest.

Today, I woke up at 530. Why? My bottle of Advil fell off of the dressing table. Uhh...remember the ghost?? I shot up, turned on the light and looked around. I don't know what I expected to see. I went back to sleep.

I woke up again at 630. Something else fell in my room. Oh man! I shot up AGAIN, this time, a lot more confused, cause it sounded like a backpack or something, but I had NO idea what it could have been, and I still don't know what it was.

After that episode, I think I fell back asleep enough to have a vague explanation of what was going on, by dreaming it. It's a way I get, feeling as though I'm conscious and everything makes sense. I actually got annoyed because wizards kept coming into my room. It was some sort of precaution thing. WIZARDS?!?! LOL. I've just been reading too much Harry Potter, AND watching the movie. It's not the first time in the past few weeks that I've dreamt of hanging with the famous Harry Potter and his friends.

I think I woke up again at 830 to my alarm. I had no idea I set my alarm that early! Too bad I didn't actually get up until 1230, after waking up a few more times. I think that counts. I'll be tired tonight, I know that.

To take care of my sleeping problem next week, I think I'll take a Tylenol PM on Sunday night at 8pm. That should give me enough time to sleep and not be groggy the next day! I HOPE.

23.8.07

Timing?!?!?

Today, I got an email about a position that I would have LOVED to do. I got the email two days after accepting a job. I accepted a job at the SAME company as this new position. This new position was brought to my attention because of the same person who helped me get the other one. WHY did it come at this point?!?! Grr. I had to pretend I wanted that other job. I don't as much as I think I want this one.

just my freaking luck.
Now I have a nagging sensation that the new position might have been what I wanted, but not right for me, and the job I got, even though I didn't want it, might be perfect. But, I also think that I missed the chance for the job I really wanted, and would have preferred to do.

21.8.07

Madly and Hopelessly

As nauseating as it may be to those who don't come close to having what we have, Chris and I are madly and hopelessly in love.

It's incredible knowing that I have that for the rest of my life.

Lost Pooch.

There was a little lost dog in our yard this afternoon. She was happy and friendly, and came up to me and let me play with her. Once I started playing with her, she didn't go away. When my mom came out, she walked over to my mom but came back to me. An instant connection. She was so cute and sweet. Too bad she didn't have a collar. She was a little dirty, and we had NO idea where she came from.
I told my mom to ask our neighbour cause I've heard barking from their garage a few times. No luck, but, instead of wandering the streets, my neighbour agreed to help find the owner. Too bad my mom and I were on our way to dinner. If we didn't find an owner, we'd keep her! She was so cute. I miss her already.

She looked just like the dog in the picture.

19.8.07

Now I can fix my crack.

A few weeks before moving back to Houston, a stupid truck kicked a pebble onto my windshield, thereby cracking it. For a little over three months, I've had a big crack in my windshield. There was no way I was going to spend a few hundred dollars on something that wasn't COMPLETELY necessary. Now, having gotten a new job, this past Friday, I can finally get a new windshield. Woohoo.

I can get an apartment. I can afford things now. I can finally go to that Argentinian restaurant I've been wanting to go with Chris for a while.

Yay to getting a job and yay to being independent again!

16.8.07

The curse of going to Colorado.

I swear, there is a curse as far as me flying to Colorado is concerned.

The first time, I got to the aiport really early because that's when my dad could take me. I connected in Dallas, and flew to Denver, where I took a bus to Boulder. Overall, I had travelled for 8 hours.

The second time, I had a direct flight..yippee. Low and behold, it was foggy in Denver, so the plane couldn't land, and I had to sit in the plane in Wyoming for a while before the fog cleared enough to land. I was travelling then for 8 hours.

This time, by far the most unfortunate time. Why must it rain, no no, POUR, the day I need to fly out, when it hadn't been raining for a few days? PERFECT TIMING. I left my house in Katy with MORE than enough time to get to the airport early, even with pouring rain. I should have gotten there in no more than 1 hour, which I practically did, even with pouring rain, with almost low visibility. I exited the highway, on the home stretch to the airport, just about 10 mins behind my shedule. My flight was departing at 350 and it was 210 when I was about 2 miles from the airport. Those two miles were the suckiest two miles I could imagine. I was in a long line of cars that weren't moving, and thought it was just traffic. No one was moving as I watched the light turn green sevral times. By the time I finally got maybe quarter of a mile, over half hour later, I saw that the road was covered in water, and there was one lane that was shallow enough for all cars to pass, BUT, that was causing a HUGE backup. 3 oclock came by and I was about 1.5 miles or less from the airport but I wasn't moving. I called the ticketing agent and found out that even if I was late, I couldn't fly out today, cause there were no more flights. SONOFABIOTCH. So, instead of flying out on Saturday afternoon, I decided that it would be more practical to just cancel my trip. So, being SO FREAKING close to the airport, I cancelled my trip. That hurt so badly.

What pissed me off even more was that it wasn't even raining when I had gotten on Airport Blvd. The sky was sunny, just a tad overcast.

Grrr.. I'm just pissed.

15.8.07

So. FRIGGIN. Close.

There were two plays left, and we PUNTED the ball. WHY?! Not only did we punt the ball, the punt itself SUCKED. So, more hardcore team (the other one, the "aggies"), had the ball for the LAST play of the game, and they're known for going long. What did they do? They went long. Though, that wasn't unexpected. We saw it coming. We just didn't stop them. At the last friggin possible second, we couldn't stop them from catching it in the endzone. Therefore, our 1 point lead, with ONE play left, was erased. sonofamonkey'suncle.

Whatever, I got some ball action and defense action. I was rather like "what the?!?!?" when asked to switch with a smaller girl to defend when it was getting down to the wire. What the hell can she do that I can't?! Whatever!

I didn't mention about my suit yesterday that it only took me about 30 mins, actually way less to find!! Chris and I went to Dillards the night before the interview, with 30 mins left until the store closed. It took a while to even find the suits. The first one I tried on, was the one I ended up buying. I'm glad Chris is my fashion consultant. He made an EXCELLENT choice. :) Thank you, bunny.

14.8.07

My eyes are burning.

Wearing a suit for over 5 hours, being as uncomfortable as can be, completely out of my element, caused me to move the least possible. I was wearing the stocking, heels, skirt, shirt, jacket, make up, even wore my hair down ( I NEVER wear my hair down..it's short so, it's not inappropriate for an interview). Anyway, I didn't pee until about 530 this afternoon, after not peeing since before 1100 or so. I couldn't. It would have taken WAY to long to get myself back together.

I wore that suit uncomfortably and like I was wearing a costume as I walked around the galleria. Not to mention the fact that by the time I was at the galleria, my feet were begining to DIE from wearing heels. It was hot as hades too.

So, because I couldn't move well in my suit, barely at all, I didn't get my sunglasses from my bag. I was carrying a special little bag for the interview, with no room for my sunglasses. I basically burned my eyes driving around with out them. I've gotten really used to having them on when I'm exposed to so much sun. Being tired is only making them worse. I DID show up to my interview with red eyes.

13.8.07

Pressure is on.

Well, I have an interview tomorrow. My goal....SELL MYSELF. I'm very bad at interviews, and I'm freaked out that there will be technical stuff.

I'm NERVOUS, but glad that the opportunity has presented itself. I'm just worried now. This is the only positive feedback I've gotten in months. It's for a job I'm not thrilled about, nor would I have applied for in the first place. But, it IS a job. I need a job, right? It's a job that will pertain to what I studied. So, it should be good for me, RIGHT? I've been told a lot that the right job will present itself when you least expect it. I'm not completely sure what the job will be about, but, I guess that's what the interview is about.

I'm nervous about my decision to go for this job. I'm nervous that I COULD potentially be getting a job.

I'm just nervous!

12.8.07

Different Sunday.

This morning, instead of waking at 930, reluctantly, to go to church on time, I woke up at 430, reluctantly. I woke up at 430 after about 2 hours of sleep so I could take my brother to the airport.

Instead of going home, I drove as the sun came up, to Chris' apartment, so I could go back to sleep sooner than later. He was watching a biography on Janis Joplin. A woman I've only heard the name of, went to the same university that I did. hmm.

I spent the day at Chris' place, sleeping for the rest of the morning, still not getting enough. I ended up falling asleep a little in the evening and right now, I still feel my eyes burning from being tired.

Update on my wellbeing:
I still have a stuffed nose, but feel alright for the most part. I've regained my appetite. meh!
My finger is probably about 95% usable. Still doesn't bend all the way and still a little uncomfortable to use. Still a little swollen. Still needs to be nurtured so as to not completely kill it.

My arms are actually worse looking than I could have imagined. The skin looks like I've aged about 100 years. I need a miracle lotion. I NEED to stop scratching it. Easier said than done.
My period ended today.

Still no luck on a job. I hate those dumb companies. They can shove their jobs up their asses.

I haven't worked out in over a week, from being sick, and entertaining my brother. Unless you count the hours of walking we did around New Orleans and San Antonio in about 100 degree weather, and the 1.5 hours it took to wash and clean my car. It's sooo much cleaner. I just wish the bitch never threw up in it.

At the moment, finishing up Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Certainly not reading them as fast as I did before, but, at least I get to savour. There are only 7 books after all. Once I get to it...the fantasy is over.
That's it, time to read some more.

7.8.07

Drugged.

Usually I pop so many cold and flu pills, I become a walking druggie when I'm sick. This time, with the doc at home, I just popped a bunch of Airborne tablets, and Advil. The Advil for the pain worked well, when it finally kicked in. The Airborne thing is supposed to be the magic that keeps me from getting sick...even though I still got sick, I THINK I felt better a little quicker than when I just use cold and flu pills. Either that, or it has taken just as long, and the vitamin C I popped worked!

Oh well, I'm in the drippy nose and drippy eye stage. The sneezy, nasal stage. The painful part is over, except for my throat, which...I guess the advil will help.

I saw I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry tonight. It was hilarious. I always liked Adam Sandler, and I like that all his friends appear in his movies. I must point out, Jessica Biel has an amazing body. LUCKY GIRL! If I had money, I'd have a trainer, and be able to afford good food. (I know I could eat better now, but convince me that she didn't pay someone to have gotten her started on eating well!) Besides, I do try to watch what I eat, not eating a lot, limiting my sugar...trust me, I have. There is still much room for improvement, but...time.

6.8.07

Of Course!

I'm going to New Orleans this week. I've never been there, and though it's not one of the places in the world I've dreamt of going to, I am excited about the food. What could possibly happen that would make the trip a little less enjoyable?

I. GOT. SICK.

Yeah! Body aches, runny nose, fever, tiredness, sneezing. UGH.

I've been popping pills so hopefully I can function on my trip, especially since it's a 6 hour drive!

What makes it a little more uncomfortable is that my finger hasn't healed. I know I hurt it pretty badly playing football last week, but, I thought that by now the swelling would have gone down. It's still a bit swollen, still hurts a bit, and can't bend properly. I don't have full function from it, and that just makes me uncomfortable.

31.7.07

YAY!!

My bunny called me tonight. I was SO surprised and instantly elated. I miss him so much. Now I know he's alright, and got to hear his voice, I'm so much happier and beaming.
I love my bunny!
I wish I was with him in Cancun this week.

Does the body good!

Swam for just under an hour, and over a mile tonight. It felt good!

Targeted areas with my lifestyle:
  • Swimming for my arms, and helps with the core, a little free weights here and there.
  • Running for my legs, and helps with the core, a little squats and lunges here and there.
  • Daily ab work out for the core.
  • Tennis and Football for some fun.

Of course all areas are targeted with all that's listed above, just some more than others.

30.7.07

He's OOOO-TAY!

After he beat Pete Sampras at age 19, I decided that Roger Federer was a punk li'l kid with LUCK to have beat one of the greatest.

I didn't want to like him, BUT, I'm a tennis fan. How easily wooed one can be by the most dominant player in the world. The man has skills. *sigh* He has skills.

ugh!

I basically just drove 30 miles to deposit a check. I was on my way downtown for football practice, when, I LUCKILY decided to text Chris' roommate to find out if we were even having practice. This was only because I only saw a grey haze in the direction of downtown and thought it might be raining down there. Sure enough, NO PRACTICE. So, not tooooo far from Katy, maybe 10 mins after I had left my house, I turned around. Instead of just getting back on the highway, I decided to take the scenic, traffic lights route.

I decided, since I was already on the road, I'd go deposit my check, then make a bit of a circle, stop and get some coffee and read my book for a while, to get me out of the house. Well, I deposited my check and decided I really don't need coffee right now and SHOULD save the money. All I really wanted was water anyway.

I'm at home right now. I was really looking forward to practice. Oh well, I'll just go running later. If it rains, I'll go swimming at the gym. Either way, I need to not slack it today and work
out!

29.7.07

over and over

I'm getting really pissed off seeing mosquitoes biting me. Every time I'm outside, I either feel them hitting me. Hear them buzzing by my ear. SEE them sucking my blood. After I brush them off, going for the kill, I feel the itch and the mound. grrrrrr.

28.7.07

Empty!

It has been more than two years since Chris and I first met. In those two plus years, there hasn't been a day where we didn't say hello to each other. When I was working for Baker Hughes, I didn't get to see him for a few weeks at a time, but, we still spoke, through email, aim, and at least 10 minutes on the phone.

This week, starting today, he'll be in Cancun, Mexico. I was supposed to go. Heaven knows I would have LOVED to go to a great beach in a great hotel with my love for a week, but, FUNDS! grr...FUNDS. Because he's in Mexico, despite the fact it's a very popular tourist destination, I'm worried about not being able to speak to him for a week. I doubt he'll be able to call. I'm hoping there is internet, but doubt that too.

This has NEVER happened before. Already today there have been many instances where I've thought of something to tell him, but CAN'T! That makes me really sad.

I hope I don't end up moping around all week. I already felt like doing that today, and succeeded.

P.S. Because my mom is SUPER insensitive, she basically made fun of me for crying because I won't see Chris for a week. Firstly, I didn't CRY! Yes, I'm really sad, but, my head was turned in my pillow because of the HEADACHE I had. insensitive bitch. Secondly, sorry you don't know what it's like to have the person you care about most in the world leave for a week not knowing when or how you're going to talk to him.

26.7.07

run. baby. run.

I'm almost there. I had a good run today. I've got the distance, continuously being improved. I keep improving my speed as well.
I must say, I'm in MUCH better shape than I was a little over two months ago.

  • Football two times a week.
  • Running every other day.
  • Tennis whenever I can.
  • Sit ups every day.
  • Need to start swimming about two times a week.

I feel more like me again.

Mystery Solved!

Last night, just as I was slipping into deep sleep, I was FREAKED out by the sound of a man's voice, IN MY ROOM(not the first time I've woken up because of that). I jumped up, turned on the light, and scanned the room. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something move in my closet. That didn't help. Just as I was falling asleep after that, it happened AGAIN. So, I fell asleep with the lamp on dim.
.
This morning, when I went to the bathroom, I was overwhelmed with the scent of a man's fragrance.
.
What the crap?
.
My dad has been out of town, so I thought he came home and for some ODD reason put on his cologne in my bathroom. Nah.
.
For a BRIEF moment, I was a little freaked that it was that "man" from last night. A GHOST?!?!?!?! Freaked the crap out of me to think like that. I don't believe in that stuff.
.
I thought it was the soap. No, cause I never smell it that strongly. The smell doesn't last all day.
.
Tonight, I solved the mystery!
.
I should have known.
I should have been more observant.
I even planned on doing this myself, but just didn't do it.
.
.
.
My mom goes into my bathroom compulsively, EVERY morning (evident from my scrunchies ending up in the drawer when I wake up). She would have been the ONLY person that put an air refreshner in the socket. It was just sitting on the counter, therefore, she had to move it.
.
I believe logic before ghosts!

First Love

I FINALLY got to go swimming tonight. It was great. I wish I had some company, BUT, it was good to finally be in the water. I felt like it was summer.

What made the night even better was getting into the water after getting to play intramural flag football again. I didn't think I'd have the opportunity after college to play, and the opportunity came up and I got to play. It's a good team of competitive players. It's great. We played two games tonight, won the first one (the one I made a touchdown in) but lost the second one. That's ok, it was real competition. The team is now 3 and 0.

Can't wait for more days of being active. I feel like a human being again, being able to get outside and play.

Tomorrow, tennis. Sweet.

23.7.07

waste of time people

I'm obsessed with knowing and hearing about all the crap that rich people spend their money on. All the things that aren't beneficial to anyone, absolutely UNneccessary, and just such a waste of money.

I'm watching The Fabulous Life of London on VH1, and while I wouldn't mind living in London, it sure as hell isn't for the freaking 35,000 dollar manicure with diamonds, rubies and saphires. Why would you spend that on your hands. You're not even going to keep it on you for the rest of your life. What's worse, a 14,000 dollar TEA BAG. WHY would someone have decided to put over 100 diamonds on and IN a tea bag? When you make your tea, what benefit does steeping diamonds have?

Seriously, people who think of these things and who spend their money on these things really need to re-evaluate their lives. There are people who don't make 14,000 in a year, and you think you're so damn special that you can spend it on your damn tea bag. GET OVER YOUR SELF OBSESSED SELVES!

I don't know if it's worse that someone designs stuff like that, or if rich people think they MUST have it, so they buy it, to be "it".

I'm all for earning money based on talents. I'm not all for people making stupid amounts of money who are dumb as rocks, but just look good. SCREW YOU!! Go pull your face to stay looking that way.

Ok, I'm venting now. I don't have millions..I barely have any money to my name...but, I can tell you I'm about to donate a few things. That's as good as I can do for the time being.

I hope all the wankers that spend stupid amounts of money on useless items, lose all their money and are unhappy and miserable. I doubt they're that happy in the first place that they need to be cool by buying all that stuff.

You make the world a HORRIBLE place you stupid wastes of space!

22.7.07

The sun HATES me.

It's sad, really. I don't mind being outside. I like the farmers tan I've gotten from running when the sun is still out. The thing is, for close to two months now, the sun has triggered a pretty bad case of eczema. At least, that's what it seems like, since all of the symptoms point to that. It hasn't been diagnosed, except by my brother, who hasn't really seen it recently. I know he's going to be a doctor, and already has a PhD, BUT, I didn't do what he advised me to do...well, not everything.

It itches like mad, so not scratching is a lot easier said than done. I have an anti-itch lotion that's been working RIDICULOUSLY well, so that helps, but...YESTERDAY..oh yesterday. So, yesterday, I went car shopping, again, with Chris. This time, we actually went for a test drive, and we were being shown all the fine little details of the car. This was all done at 2pm in the HOT HOUSTON SUN. Ironically, yesterday was one of the few days it hasn't rained, therefore, HOT, HOT, HOT!

I was fine at first, because my scars had been healing nicely, but, I was outside for sevral hours yesterday, and a combination of the beating sun and sweat made it flare up and MAN it sucked. I couldn't help myself and went for it...making it just as bad if not worse than it's been in weeks. GREAT!

So, today, I'm stuck with semi-itching arms, anti-itch lotion, and very ugly scars on my arms. To my friends, when you see me, don't be grossed out, they're just scars from a non-contagious condition.

If only I had medical insurance. If only this happened when I DID have it. Why do you suppose, right after I quit my job, stuff like this happens. oye!

In other great news, bunny has a new car. I was so proud of him for doing it with out his parents, something to call truly his own. It was really sad getting rid of his other car. So many sentiments. Even thinking about it driving away, never to be used by him or I again, it was sad, more so for him, of course. He was so sad about it, he nearly made ME cry. We no longer have the same kind of car. I think that's why I was sad the most, cause that, even though we didn't know it when we first met, made us that weird cute couple that drove the same car. hehe.

Anyway, I'm so proud of you love. I can't wait to share new memories with you in your new car, especially since I was with you to buy it. I LOVE YOU.

20.7.07

feminine appeal

I don't know if it's because I'm older, but, I'm fully aware of the ability to look decent. I'm not saying I don't, but, I'd like to look shall I say...PRETTY. I'm completely against running out and buying the latest fashion, so I'm not willing to be fashionalbe, but I am willing to be a little more feminine.

Lately, I've been trying, and I think I'm doing a decent job. However, I'm not quite the "sexy" person that everyone else seems to be when they go out. I don't really want to be sexy, but at least I want to know that I look good. I know I look good. My boyfriend tells me that all the time.
.
.
I know I have a bit of body dismorphic disorder. Who doesn't? However, I've realized recently, after seeing pictures of when I was 15 and even when I was 16 and 17, I was REALLY SKINNY. Now, not so much. My body fat percent is outrageous. While I do have the ability to be athletic, and lose weight, I haven't been because I've been eating like crap. I'm working on it...TRUST ME.
.
.
In the mean time, I've been on the search for a nice dress. I wouldn't mind pairing in with nice shoes. I know Chris would appreciate it. I think my mom will be AMAZED.
I don't want it to be an all the time thing, just, more often than it has been...for special occasions, and maybe a little more when going out. Besides, I'm still the girl I am, loving cars, and sports, I just will be wearing nice clothes...WHEN I can afford it.

We'll see. I have been trying...I don't know how well it has been noticed.

19.7.07

*@@*!

I'm feeling a little green. I think I wanna hurl or just lie down.

Eternal Love

When I was a wee lass living in Trinidad, cars such as Mercedes Benzes, BMW's, Rolls Royces, Mustangs, Corvettes, and Lexuses were THE hot cars. They were soooo rare in Trinidad, but I was aware of them, and knew of their influence.

When I moved to the states, especially in Texas, Mustangs and Corvettes kinda became an everyday car, since a lot of people here have one. Lexuses, in Trinidad, were not really my favourite, but, they've upped their game and are now a hot little car to have....I would actually get one...the LS if I could afford it.

BMW will always be my love though. Those cars to me, represent beauty, power, and just make me stare on the road. Yes, there are 300s all over the place, which is why I'd rather buy a 500 and up WHEN I do buy one.. hehe.

Mercedes...they're still cars that are for big wigs, but..they are not as special as BMWs to me, and I'd probably get a Lexus before I get a Benz.

A few cars that have recently become contenders...since I'm a little more mature.... Infiniti puts out some lookers that are classy cars. The Acura TL...it's pretty good looking, and actually affordable.
Good looking "muscle" cars....Camaros, Chargers [for a while I wanted a charger Black with Orange racing stripes. Now, I want a Camaro.. :) ]

Being in Houston, I've encountered a few Bentleys. OoOoOo, Bentley!!!!!! EVERY time I see one of those on the road, and I have seen a few....I stare. It's quite dangerous. Too bad I can't go as fast as they can to keep staring. *drool*

I'm grateful to be in a place like Houston where there are prominent individuals that can afford such vehicles for me to be lost in. *sigh* I have always and will always LOVE great cars.
Honourable mentions: Audi A8, Mercedes SL, Maserati, Aston Martin (LOVE those).

Simpsons MANIA!

It's amazing just how far out the Simpsons' movie is being promoted. I LOVE IT. First, 7Eleven turned their top stores in to Kwik E Marts. Then, I saw lifesize simpsons coming off a jet blue plane. And today, sevral friends have changed significantly from 3-D human beings to yellow 2D avatars, thanks to http://www.simpsonsmovie.com/.

It's HILARIOUS.

The Simpsons is BY FAR a cultural icon, and it's awesome to see how they're really taking over the country.
I can't wait to see it myself. When I finish creating all the avatars I'd like to...I'll put them up.

lost.

It has been over two months since I quit that thing that paid my bills and gave me independence. It was the worst possible one I could have, and I got out of it to spend all my time looking for a new and better one.

Today, I realized that I've lost sight of why I'm sitting in my parents house and not in my own place. I think it's because of how discouraged I am at companies' requirement for a certain GPA, not giving me the time of day to say why mine isn't what they want.

For crying out loud, I am a smart person, who will learn a job and learn to do it well. I have interest in this damn industry, and I'm supposed to easily get a job, if people weren't so stuck up. It pisses me off that other engineers are getting jobs that petroleum engineers were trained for.

I need to really consider becoming a professional in something other than engineering.

Either that or I really need to try harder at finding a job.

I HATE IT.

really irks me

It bothers me when people don't consider warming up a crucial part of working out. I realize the importance, from being in sports and taking classes, therefore, encorporating it into my routine.

So, for those who don't do it......

10 reasons to warm upTempted to skip your warm up? Don't! Your warm up is an important part of your exercise routine. According to ACSM's James Peterson, Ph.D., FACSM, here are 10 vital reasons for starting out with a warm up and not taking shortcuts!

1. Increases degradation of oxyhemoglobin. In lay person's terms, warming up helps break down the chemical complex of oxygen, which enables it to separate from the blood and enhance its delivery to the muscle.

2. Increases body temperature. Warming up reduces the potential for muscle and connective injuries.

3. Increases blood flow to exercising muscles. The more blood that reaches the muscles, the easier the delivery of nutrients required for energy production.

4. Increase blood flow to the heart. More blood to the heart means a reduced risk for exercise-induced cardiac abnormalities.

5. Decreases muscle viscosity. Hey, if viscosity is bad for your car engine, it's not any better for your muscles. Warming up enhances the suppleness of the muscle.

6. Help promote sweating. Remember: sweat is good. Sweating reduces the amount of heat stored in the body. Your body spends more energy cooling itself than through any other activity.
7. Enhances the speed of transmission of nerve impulses. Motor faculties improve greatly when you're warmed up. Need proof? Get out of bed and run to the front door. You'll probably bump into something, or worse, fall down. If you walked to the front door, and stretched. You could run like Forest Gump.

8. Increases the blood saturation of muscles and connective tissue. Sounds messy. In reality, the more blood reaching the muscles, tendons and ligaments, the better the elasticity of these tissues. Which means better performance and reduced chance of injuries
.
9. Prepares the cardiovascular system for impending workload. Helps the heart and blood vessels adjust to the body's increased demands for blood and oxygen.

10. Prepares muscles for impending workload. Warming up may reduce the likelihood of excessive muscle soreness.

Bizarre Foods

CHECK. I am officially a fan of Andrew Zimmern after his episode of Bizarre Foods tonight in Trinidad and Tobago. He seemed to enjoy most of what he ate....things I enjoyed/enjoy as a Trinidadian.

I think I'd actually enjoy about 90% of what he eats (the mystery meat and eggs in Morocco, not so much..if you catch me), if given the opportunity to try it.

I appreciate his open mind and open palette.

You rock Andrew Zimmern.

Burying the "N" word

Today, the NAACP, in an effort to show the intolerance of the N word, held a symbolic funeral. It is now a debate about the effectiveness of this gesture and its impact on those who use the word.

Personally, I'm glad it has been acknowledged that no one using the word is justified. I realize however that it's most likely not going to be given up by those who use it frequently and see nothing wrong with it.

My argument to those using it, especially black people who use it is that it's really hypocritical. If a white person uses the word in the exact same context as a black person, referring to a friend, why is that not ok? If a white person refers to someone even in a derogatory manner, toward someone a black person could say the same thing about, why is it not ok? Apparently the N word can be used to describe certain behaviours and demeanour of a black person, so, it seems as though, if one race is "allowed" to use it with this reference, the other should be able to as well.

Of course many races use this, which is just funny to me. Like I said though, when black people use the word, I feel as though I'm just as capable of saying it. I NEVER use the word nor do I condone ANYONE using it, because I find it highly vulgar, even when used casually. I think if someone is going to be offended by it, then it should not be used at all.

San Antonio nightlife

First, On the half shell at Oyster Bar. A cool place to dance, have a few drinks. The music is all the "dance" music on the radio, that you've heard at least a million times on the radio. The thing is, when you hear it on the radio, you want to dance, so, this is the place to get a chance.

Second, I don't even know the name of it, but it was connected to the Oyster Bar through the bathroom, but they charge you to get in (They said it was 10 dollars but they gave us half off cause we were just in the other bar...YEAH RIGHT). It's not as "hip" as the Oyster Bar, though you can tell it tries. It's kinda bright, and the SAME music as the other bar, therefore, annoying. I DID steal a T.I. vs. T.I.P poster though. I felt like a badass.

Third, Club Rive. This place was unlike any I have ever seen. There were FOUR areas that were separate from the rest. The entrance had live alternative music. The back room, poles, dancers in their underwear...LITERALLY, bras and underwear, and hip hop. Upstairs, more hip hop, but it was HOT. This chick tried to dance with Chris...TRIED. Of the three guys that I was hanging out with, she went up to the one that was holding hands with his girlfriend. Step off, chick. I helped Chris dismiss her by pulling him away. I think she got the message. I can't remember the fourth room, but...we were back to the one with the poles and the dancers. I had taken a picture, but someone told me I had to delete it. I didn't see the teeny sign on the wall. oops. When they were done, they came up to us and started chatting cause one of them had just macked a guy and we were like, WHAT! It was her boyfriend so she was calling the guys out for making faces. haha.

It was interesting hanging out in San Antonio. I enjoyed it, but, I will always prefer Austin, especially after finding a few new bars.

not so great

-I have a skin problem, that looks like my arms got burned.
-I don't have a job, and I'm using all of my savings.
-I actually GAINED 10 lbs since quitting my job, even though I work out like 4 times a week.
-I can't say I have too many friends.
I have every reason to feel miserable at the moment. My life is NOT what it should be and what's worse is that I feel like I screwed myself by quitting a job that made me depressed. I know I'm being emotional right now, but I feel justified, discouraged, and not so great.

p.s. I didn't get to go swimming this weekend. The only time I got wet was walking through the rain. grr.

Soggy Plans

It's raining right now. It rained last night. It rained the day before. It's been raining for more than a week straight. I hope it's not like this in Austin. If it is...that means...we may not get to go out on the lake. THAT WOULD SUCK a lot!!!!!!!!!

I wanna do something near or on water this weekend. I MUST.

I LOVE them autobots!!

I just came back from seeing Transformers. It was AWESOME! I loved the action, and all the transformations. THE CAMARO!! Shia LaBeouf.
